The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is an intergovernmental organization that supports countries in their transition to a sustainable energy future, and serves as the principal platform for international cooperation, a center of excellence, and a repository of policy, technology, resource and financial knowledge on renewable energy. They provide a plethora of reports, tools, policy advice and much more. I sit down with Jack Kiruja, a Renewable Energy Analyst working on Geothermal and talk about the initiatives within the Global Geothermal Alliance and how IRENA is helping unite the globe to advance Geothermal.
Unity across the globe will be absolutely key in achieving our sustainable future. This is one of the main focuses of IRENA, to be a platform for international cooperation. They don't stop there. Advising on policy, creating tools for understanding global renewable energy, developing reports on the energy transition and tracking every renewable energy and technology are all within their repertoire. I had the pleasure to sit down with Jack Kiruja who is a Renewable Energy Analyst within IRENA focused on Geothermal and get some perspective on all that IRENA is doing to unite the globe to help us transition into our sustainable future. Spoiler: Geothermal is heating up.
