What is sustainability and why is it important to have a standardized method of evaluating how sustainable an energy project is? The word sustainable gets thrown around quite a bit, but there is more to this word than just being a renewable energy. There also is value in having a global database of projects that are assessed using the same protocols to create best practices, provide education, secure stakeholder buy in and be useful in attracting investment. I had the honor of attending the inaugural GSAP training in Costa Rica with the IGA and today you are getting a reflection on the conference from the IGA, GIZ and Joerg Hartmann.
Geothermal Sustainability Assessment Protocol. The newly created GSAP went on the road to Costa Rica for the inaugural training on the tool and it was a great success. On today's episode I sit down with Marit Brommer of the IGA, Joerg Hartmann the expert and Bernhardt from GIZ to debrief and talk about how we hope to see the GSAP used globally to establish best practices, ensure projects are sustainable in every aspect from social, governance, resource development and more.
